Hjemmelaget horn med ost og skinke! (oppskrift) / Homemade horn with cheese and ham! (recipe)

Ofc, did we need some baking during Christmas as well, you know!

Ingredienser:

1kg mel
1 ts salt
200g smør
4dl melk
1 pk gjær
400g skinke i terninger
400g revet ost

Framgangsmåte:

1. Bland 700g mel og salt i en bolle.
2. Smelt smøret og ha i melken. La dette bli lunket.
3. Tilsett gjæra i melkeblandingen og ror godt.

In English:

Ingredients:

1kg flour
1tbs salt
200g butter
4dl milk
50g yeast
400g ham in dices
400g grated cheese

Let's get to it:

1. Mix 700g flour and the salt into a boll.
2. Melt the butter and add the milk. Let it cool down to body temperature.
3. Add the yeast and mix well.
4. Place all the dry ingredients on one side of the ball, and then add the wet ones on the other side. Mix well until you get a sticky consistence.
5. Little by little you FOLD IN some more flour until you get a solid, but still a little stick dough.
6. Let the dough rest while you cut the ham into dices or grated the cheese. I didn't watch the clock, since the dough is not supposed to swollen so much.
7. Sprinkle some more flour on the table, before taking out the dough and cut it into two peaces. Flour your roller pin and role the dough into a pizza shape, around 1-2 cm thick.
8. Cut the pizza shaped dough into 8 pizza slices and fill them with cheese and ham. Role them together and let them rest for 30 min or longer, until they have grown bigger.

4. Stekes midt i ovnen på 200°C i 45-50 min.

Ingredienser til all pynt:
200g marshmellows
500g melis
1pk maisenna mel.
1/2 plate sjokolade for å skrive

How to make homemade Marshmellow-Fondant !

Since so many people keep asking me how I make MMF, I've decided to give an explanation on how to make one.

MMF:
200 g Marshmellow
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons melted butter
500g icing sugar
a cup of corn starch

Procedure on MMF:
1 Take 200 g marshmellow in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of water.
2 Insert in the micro until they are inflated/melted. (If you don't have mirco, read tips further down)
NOTE: You must be looking, because this can go fast!
3 When the marshmallows is finished, stir and add the icing sugar until you manage to make a "lump" of it. If you want the whole fondant in same color, please add the food coloring now. Wrap it in plastic when you're done.

This is where you can choose to go two different ways.
  1. You can leave the MMF in the fridge for as long has you want, has long as you keep it completely sealed. NOTE: Leaving it over night will also make the color on the fondant stronger.
  2. Let it cool down in the fridge at least one hour before use. I will not recommend start using it right away, when its all soften and difficult to work with.

Tips:
  • If you don't have a microwave, don't worry. Just use a bowl above a  saucepan with boiling water. It would take less time, but has long as the marshmallows are getting melted that's the main thing!
  • When you're going to make the cover of the cake or do some decorations, use corn starch to prevent it from getting sticky. It's very easy to just brush off, and it doesn't leave any taste on the fondant. If you cant brush it off, due to small details like rose leaves and such, just use a paintbrush with a little bit of water on.
  • When you want to use it, you can either take it out and and let it soften on the kitchen bench, or you could start working on it right away. It's very hard, but just keep working on those muscles, hehe!
  • If you want to make decorations like flowers and so on, the dryness take around 2-5 days depending on the thickness on the fondant. I would recommend buying CMC and add to the fondant. This would make the fondant dry faster.
  • If you want to save it for more then one week, I would recommend sealing in the plastic as well has a completely sealed box in the fridge. This would make it last even longer and even up to 2-3 months.
  • When all done with the covering and the decorations on the cake, keep the cake in the fridge, but place it in rom temperature around 15 min until its ready to be placed on the table. DO NOT have food in the fridge which can transmit the smell over to cake, such as onions and other vegetables and food. If you have a plastic cover in hard materials, which would not destroy the cake or decorations, then it's brilliant, use it!

You can do this, and good luck!! :)

  • Video, which is basically just videos of random things.
  • Blog, which as something to do with the blog
  • Game, which as something to do with games/videogames, including streaming!
  • Life, which is just random things happen in my life

[Baking] A little shopping trip with 25% off! :D

Last week, actually on Saturday, Panduro had 25% on everything in the store, so I got this has a birthday pressent from my boyfriend. He was actually suppose to order me a massage for my birthday, because I've been through the pregancy and giving birth, but since it cost a lot I asked him "Why not give me this?".

This ended up around 400NOK, and it would have gotten around 550 NOK if it wasn't for that 25% off!

So, now I can make a dinosaur cake for my birthday on his one year old day, hehe. And maybe some dinosaur thingy for my boyfriends cake. We'll see.

And since we went shopping there, we got this for free. So, later I'm gonna dry to make something and see how it turnes out!

Thank you so much, my love. I love you! <3>

[Life] I bought myself something special this weekend

Me and my boyfriend have a very open relationship when it comes to money, since we are living 90% on his money. We have it very balanced and very open to what and were he money is going.

Since my boyfriend got my "permission" to buy the big Payday2 pack on steam (since it was on sale for around 20 euros or something), I gave myself some permission to buy something that I like.

I have been talking a little with my boyfriend during this summer about taking some decoration classes (for cakes) in the evenings when I get a job and we get more income. And since we need the stuff, I thought "why not buy it on sale, for cheaper money?" + I can already starts now with the training. So I got myself a sett for helping me out with decorations! :)

[Life] What I've been doing through this December !

Many things have happen this month, so I'm not gonna tell it detailed about it. First of all, we bough at Nintendo64 for only 500 NOR KR! That is around 60 euros! Wii!!

Then we were going on a trip with my boyfriends work, and eat dinner and drink and celebrate Christmas. My boyfriend bough me this earrings and necklace. I love it <3 nbsp="" p="">

The hotel room!

It's been snowing a bit too, and I was outside with Lulu Mia. You can read about it here: http://mylillecrazyworld.blogspot.no/2013/12/pet-lulu-mia-meets-snow-for-first-time.html

I've been cleaning and decorating for Christmas too. If you want to see more pictures, you can watch it here: http://mylillecrazyworld.blogspot.no/2013/12/interior-ive-this-week-been-decorating.html

I have also made muffins with chocolate inside, and gingerbreads and gingerbread house with my boyfriends mother and family. It was pretty funny, because me and my boyfriends sister decorated each side of the house without looking at each others side of the house. This is her side of the house. Sadly, before I got the chance to take a picture of my side the gingerbread house broke down..

Out little Christmas tree!

And I've been outside walking some times. Sadly, not been taking that many pictures.

I've almost won a lot of money..

And for making up the sad thingy, here is some funny pictures of my cat during December: http://mylillecrazyworld.blogspot.no/2013/12/pet-different-funny-pictures-of-my-cat.html

I've been a bit creative too. Here is one I made that I've been giving in Christmas presents to a friend!

I've been making Chocolate and some other yummy Christmas cakes! Also, here is this years post about how I wrapped in my Christmas presents: http://mylillecrazyworld.blogspot.no/2013/12/interior-different-ways-ive-been.html

And we have been having a lot of lovely Christmas breakfasts ! ^^
